Turner revealed in her 2018 memoir My Love Story that she has suffered life-threatening illnesses.[270] In 2013, three weeks after her wedding to Erwin Bach, she suffered a stroke and had to learn to walk again. In 2016, she was diagnosed with intestinal cancer. Turner opted for homeopathic remedies to treat her high blood pressure that resulted in damage to her kidneys and eventual kidney failure. Her chances of receiving a kidney were low, and she was urged to start dialysis. She considered assisted suicide and signed up to be a member of Exit,[271] but Bach offered to donate a kidney for her transplant. Turner had kidney transplant surgery on April 7, 2017.[272][273]

An article released by David A. Wood with carcomplaints.com reported a lawsuit being filed against Hyundai by two individuals by the name of Lorenzo Ford and Tina Forehand. They are both owners of a 2020 Hyundai Palisade and unfortunately, suffered from defective windshields that prematurely cracked on them. This case is now known as Ford, et al., v. Hyundai Motor America, et al.
Lorenzo and Tina claimed a pebble had struck their windshield and left a crack. For Lorenzo, his 2020 Palisade had about 4,225 miles and got quoted $880 to replace it. Tina's 2020 Palisade had approximately 2000 miles and had to wait three weeks to get her windshield. She was charged $250 for replacement.
Prices seem to be all over, and the mileage seems to vary as well, which is natural as pebbles may occur at any mileage. Bizarrely, some owners reported their windshields cracking without even coming into contact with anything. Issues with the windshield on Palisades and even the Kia Telluride existed only a few months after owners started taking delivery of their cars. Even small insects clashing with the windshields have caused cracks, which is a bit alarming. As an automotive journalist reviewing cars, I have encountered the same problem in a Hyundai test car.
A few weeks ago, I was sent the 2020 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid as a test car. I publish video reviews on my YouTube channel, and I have been using a Manfrotto camera mount to place my DSLR camera onto the windshields of the past 100 vehicles I have reviewed. After I finished filming my review, I began to pull on the little tab of my mount to release it from the windshield and boom, and the windshield cracked on me.
This issue has never happened to me before in any other car that I have reviewed. Again, I used this mount in the last 100 vehicles that I have tested. Somehow, under the pressure of me releasing my mount, the windshield just cracked and left a massive spiderweb crack. A day later, I was driving down the highway, and a truck flung a nefarious pebble next to the spiderweb I produced and left a little crack. No matter what, the windshield in my test vehicle would've needed replacing.
Interestingly, Hyundai refuses to admit their windshields are defective. Many owners say that the cracked windshields are becoming a distraction to driving, but as of now, Hyundai requires owners to pay for a replacement windshield. These allegedly defective windshields and replacement windshields have cost owners up to $1,600.
The Plaintiffs are seeking to have Hyundai buyback vehicles, cover replacement costs, or to reimburse owners for losses caused due to their windshields. Replacing windshields can also affect the value of the car, which adds to the cost owners are already paying to replace cracked windshields.

Plaintiffs Lorenzo Ford and Tina Forehand claim that they experienced a 2020 Hyundai Palisade windshield crack in their vehicles shortly after purchase. Allegedly, 2020 Hyundai Palisade vehicles are prone to windshield cracks within the early days of use.
According to the Hyundai Palisade windshield crack class action lawsuit, the dealership routinely denies that there is a defect associated with their vehicles and refuses to provide Hyundai windshield warranty coverage.

We bought our 2021 in January of last year. I noticed a crack/chip with probably only 200 miles right in the middle of the drivers side. Very distracting to me. I took the car immediately back to dealer and basically was told it was my problem. Still there.
Our 2020 Palisade developed a windshield crack within about 1,000 miles, and a side window cracked a few months later, which I paid for myself. Recently, we caught a small chip in the lower right corner, and this morning there is a crack across over half of the windshield. What is the status of the class action? We replaced the side window with Fuyao glass and there have been no issues.
I have a 2020 Palisade and the windshield broke right at the top middle without anything hitting it. I had it replaced and two days later it had another crack from the bottom passenger side. I had the a/c on high and it was extremely hot out. I feel as though these windshields are just defective.
I have a 2020 Palisade. Last summer I caught a small rock in the center of the windshield by the mirror. Windshield cracked all the way across. Safelite repair $1600. Two weeks ago in a slow moving construction zone got another rock from the vehicle in front of me and got a web crack. Went directly to Safelite and was able to get it repaired. $75.00. In all the years I have driven I have never had a small stone crack my windshield. Even Safelite indicates the glass is bad.
We have a 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe and my husband and 2 other men were riding down the highway when all of a sudden they actually heard the window crack. Nothing hit it, there were no marks showing anything hit it. It just cracked in 2 different directions 3 feet across and 18 inches down. It all started up where the mirror is mounted on the windshield. We have a bumper to bumper warranty but they would not cover it. It is not right.
I have a 2020 Hyundai Palisade and I have had to replace my windshield 3 times within 1 year.(1) The first incident occurred in May 2021 when i was riding behind a truck towing a small trailer. Top speed was around 50mph and distance was maintained between both vehicles. A small pebble was thrown against my windshield and caused about a 1.5 inch crack. Within 3 days that crack grew to about 15 inches. It took around 2 weeks to replace this windshield through Safelite.(2) Incident #2 took place within 2 days of having the initial windshiield replacement. I got my vehicle home and the next day went outside and there was a HUGE crack that started from the bottom corner passenger size and went straight through to the middle of the windshield. This was the complete opposite side of the initial crack. I called Safelite immediately to report what happened and they said it could be glass stress or rapid temperature change that could have caused the crack. They said they would fix the windshield and for free because it was covered under the warranty of Safelite from initial replacement. I had to wait for that windshield for almost 2 months due to Covid and supply shortages.(3) My windshield cracked yet again this weekend on a simple 2 hour road trip. We were riding behind, once again, a truck towing a small trailer and top speed was 40mph due to traffic. A rock/pebble flew up and caused a 1.5 inch crack bottom, center to my windshield. We watched within the 2 hour timespan of the road trip and that crack went from 1.5 inches, to a curved, combined total of about 10 inches. I will now have to file another claim to have this windshield replace. 2ff7e9595c
